Fifty years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area, Edward W. Engs Jr. created Engs Motor Truck Company under three principles: Honesty, Integrity, and Foresight.

Following these guidelines, the small operation of buying, selling and financing commercial vehicles and equipment developed into a thriving business. As Edward aged, his two sons Stuart R. Engs Sr. and Edward “Ted” Engs III. assumed leadership of company operations. Soon afterwards a leasing and financing arm to the Engs business was created, Engs Lease Plan — today known as Engs Commercial Finance. The two closely tied businesses helped build one another into the successful corporations they are today.

Using the values established by his grandfather Edward, John Engs now operates Engs Commercial Finance in the same manner as the small business of years ago. As a result of an honest, respectful and perceptive approach to business needs while placing special emphasis on hands-on customer contact, Engs Commercial Finance has expanded significantly in the last decade. Even with such growth, the corporation continues to focus on their customers — one business at a time. At Engs Commercial Finance, cookie-cutter financing is avoided in favor of truly customized solutions, and their ability to think out of the financing "box" has made one-time customers into lifetime customers.
